Dan Hazelton Collabo Sketch!

Just got back from a week in Milwaukee visiting and drawing with my buddy Dan Hazelton (www.danhazelton.com). The sketch below was one of two collabos that we started while I was there. We started sketching around midnight and finished up around 7 or 8 in the morning:) I'm about to pick up a Wacom tablet this week so hopefully we can get this jammer knocked out!

HELL CITY TATTOO CONVENTION!!

The Hell City Tattoo Convention was all that I had expected and more.  I had loads of fun.  To all of you who stopped by my booth and buried me with compliments, "Thank you".  It was good to put some faces to some avatars:)

Below is a tattoo I dropped off on a client who flew in from Ireland to get tattooed by me (I was super flattered!).  Took me about 6.5 hours to complete.

SKWIRL!!!

6 Hours worth of Tatt Zappin!!  Sierra sat like a champ!!

Got a touch up session in two weeks.  I think I'm gonna push that Skwirl logo a bit as well as pump some baby blue into the background.  That should cool the palette down a bit.  I'll post some final photos when it's done:)

SURFACING SERPENT (SKETCH)

So I went down to Fuzion Ink to do a guest spot for their one year anniversary and had all intention of finishing every piece I had started, but just like every other guest spot I do, I ended up getting myself in way over my head on one of the pieces.  Fortunately for me, Fuzion Ink is only about an hour and a half from hear and Tom was more then willing to travel.  Tom had initially asked me for a dragon on his chest, but before I knew it I had filled the page with a drawing that was ridiculously too big.  So I showed Tom the piece and told him that it would look much better on the ribs, but if he wasn't willing to go that route then I'd draw something else up that would fit a little better.  He liked the drawing so much that he offered up his ribs and we started crunchin away.  I honestly didn't think he'd go for it but after we had finished the first session I threw out the idea of bringing it down and showing everything under water.  The first couple of sittings he really didn't say much about it but as we got closer to finishing the upper half he started talking about bringing it down.  Below is the sketch of the lower half that I drew on a photo of the upper half that I took before the last session.  I'm hoping to have this piece knocked out within the next couple of months.  So as soon as I have some good pictures of the completed piece I'll toss them up.

CARA'S KILLER KITTY!

Sketched this up a couple months ago for this girl down in Orlando.

She thought it was a little too cute so we made a few minor adjustments and got to work.

CHARISMATIC CATERPILLAR

The fella who ended up getting this tattooed flew down from Norway to Copenhagen, partied all night, got 4 hours of sleep and sat for 10 hours straight!  Them Norwegian dudes are gangsta!

MISTY TREE

Threw this together for a tattoo that I'm starting this weekend.  I feel like there should be a happy little squirrel poppin out of that uber large knot at the bottom.  The tree just seems kinda lonely.  Any opinions??

DUMB POLITICIAN SKETCH 1

Just wanted to toss this  up before I went to bed.  It's a sketch for part of a painting that I'll be working on over the next month.  Hopefully I can find a little more time tomorrow to start sketchin on some of the other parts.  If I get anything done worth showin I'll post it:)

RABBIT EATING VULTURE

Just finished up this piece that I started on my boy Ryan a couple months ago at the Tried and True tattoo convention in Orlando, Florida.  The initial idea he threw at me was that he wanted a vulture on his calf.  So I started sketchin and this is what I came up with.

14 hours of tattooing later............

Got commissioned to do a painting for my boy Shae from N.E.R.D.  I'll be starting that as well as a half torso piece for him within the next couple days.  Stay tuned.............
